Scientific activity of the department

Main directions of scientific research of the department staff:
 

At the Department of Radio Engineering Systems, an active research work is carried out.

The main directions of research work of the department:

- research and development of high-efficiency reliable and cheap semiconductor power converters (NPP) based on high-frequency magnetic amplifiers (VMP) (ensuring high level of load current; providing parallel operation of output channels of multichannel NPP and separate NPUs with uniform distribution of load current between them; synchronous straightening in pulse voltage stabilizers on the VMP);

-Research and development of technologies for providing electromagnetic compatibility of modern radio engineering and computer systems;

-study of modern methods and development of new methods for active filtration in NPP;

-mathematical modeling of energy exchange processes in NPP and development of mathematical models of high-quality energy supply;

- research and development of software and hardware for objects control systems based on FPGA and microcontrollers;

-methods for processing signals and images of remote sensing of the Earth.

In recent years, a number of research projects have been carried out by the workers of the department (scientific advisor, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Yaskiv VI).

In particular, under the Program of Ukrainian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation, the research work was carried out:

1) DFK 163-09 - GDR "Creation of a unified number of semiconductor power converters in a wide range of output capacities" according to the Agreement of the Ministry of Education and Science No. M / 50-2009 dated March 5, 2009, due March 2009 - December 2010 р., inventory number of the state registration 0109U005183, the amount of the contract - 55 thousand UAH, incl. for 2009 - 30 thousand UAH, for 2010 - 25 thousand UAH.

2) DFK 181-11 DDR "High-performance power supplies with factor correction factor" according to the Agreement of the State Agency of Ukraine for Science, Innovation and Informatization No. M / 266-2011 dated 21.07. 2011, deadline: July 2011 - December 2011, the amount of the contract - 50 thousand UAH.

3) DI 189-12 "Methods and mathematical models of high-quality energy supply of protected computer systems", inventory number of the state. Registration U, 2012
4) DFK 195-12 "Highly effective power sources with correction factor of power", inventory number of the state. Registration U, 2012
 

Within the framework of the Nato Program Security Through Science program, a research laboratory for secondary power supply systems (headed by Ph.D., associate professor Yaskiv VI) in conjunction with the Power Electronics Laboratory of the University of California, Irvine, USA (Prof. K. Smedley) Received COLLABORATIVE LINKAGE GRANT "High-Reality Switching Power Converters for Security of Information Technology" (IC S.NUKR.CLG 982639). Deadline: October 2007 - October 2009, the amount of the contract - 25 thousand dollars.

 

The financial support of this grant by the Ukrainian side was carried out within the framework of the implementation of the DDL DFN 149-08 "High-reliability pulsed power converters for information technology security. CLG 982639 "under the Agreement of the Ministry of Education and Science No. M / 80-2008 dated April 17, 2008, the deadline: April 2008 - December 2008, inventory number of the state. registration 0108U005582, the amount of the contract - 60 thousand UAH.

 

In the framework of the implementation of this grant, in May 2008 a visit was conducted by the Associate Professor. Yaskiv VI and mn.s. Gurnik O.P. to the Power Electronics Laboratory of the University of California, Irvine, USA (Prof. K. Smedley, Professor of Laboratory) for joint research. In particular, results of unique testing of a prototype of a pulsed source of power supply on electromagnetic radiation were obtained.

 

In January 2009, a visit was conducted by the Associate Professor V.Yaskiv. to the University of California, Irvine, USA for joint research and approval of further cooperation. According to the results of the trip, a joint Ukrainian-Jewish-American project on the problem of the creation of compact low power electromagnetic energy converters - "HIGH POWER-QUALITY AND HIGH ENERGY-EFFICIENCY ISOLATED POWER SUPPLY FOR IT AND TELECOM SYSTEMS" - was prepared, drawn up and submitted for a competition to NATO. .

 

From 01.07.2009 to 06.08.2009, Dr. Alexander Abramovich, a scientist from the Power Electronics Laboratory of the University of California, Irvine, USA, worked in the research laboratory of secondary power supply systems within the framework of the joint project. The result of the cooperation was the final report on the project and the preparation of two joint scientific articles.

 

In March 2011, it was prepared jointly with the Power Electronics Laboratory of the University of California (Irvine, USA) and submitted to the CRDF (USA) for the topic "Alternative Energy" the project "ONE SICLE CONTROLLED MICRO-INVERTER FOR SOLAR APPLICATIONS".

In June, according to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 04.06.09 № 488 assistant professor. Yaskiv VI is included in the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to participate in the exhibition of scientific developments of Ukraine in the People's Republic of China (June 12-22, 2009, Harbin).

 

For the financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the state budget theme of the AI 128-06-R & D "Development of high-performance semiconductor power converters for the needs of modern information and computer technologies" was implemented, the period of implementation: 2006 - 2008, inventory number of the state. registration 0106U000127, the amount of the contract - 90 thousand UAH.

 

In 2012, funding was received for the implementation of a new research project "Methods and mathematical models of high-quality energy supply of protected computer systems" (work code - DI-189-12, inventory number of the state registration number 0112U002204, customer - Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports Ukraine).

In addition, the teachers of the department took part in the following state budget research topics:

 

1) DI 168-09 "Detection and accounting of hidden electricity selection in high-voltage networks by computer technology methods";

2) DI 152-09 "Detection and accounting of the hidden selection of thermal energy and water in energy networks by computer technology methods".

In May 2012 the dissertation was defended by MIKIVA I.M. for obtaining the scientific degree of the candidate of technical sciences in the specialty 05.13.05- "Computer systems and components" on the theme "Methods and means of creating controllers of serial interfaces in the hardware reconfigurable systems".

In recent years, the staff of the department published 1 scientific monograph, published more than 13 articles in professional editions. The results of the research work of the teachers of the department are regularly reported at the scientific seminars of the department, international scientific conferences, all-Ukrainian scientific, scientific-practical and thematic conferences, in particular, the International scientific and technical conference "Power Electronics and Energy Efficiency" (SEE'2006) (Alushta, 2006), 2nd International Electronic Radio Forum "Applied Radio Electronics. On the basis of the graduation department in 2008, advanced training courses were carried out in the direction "Methods and means of digital data processing in telecommunication systems and networks" for officers of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine and commissioned by the state-owned firm Hitako (Socialist Republic of Vietnam), as well as during the reporting period Professional development of teachers of the Technical College of TNTU, which provide bachelor training in the direction 6.0907 "Radio engineering".

In the scientific and educational process at the department the funds of the educational-scientific institute of information systems, the research laboratory of secondary power supply systems (NDL-2), the center of information technologies, which unites the regional Academy of CSCO, the regional Center for training certified IT professionals Academy and SUN Microsystems, the Schneider Electric Training Center and the VUE, QNX Software, ASCON, D-Link, IBM Competency Center, Cisco Enterprise Institute. Students of the center receive certificates of international model.

In order to improve the professional and practical training of students, considerable attention is paid to the research work of the students at the department of radio engineering systems, which attracts most students. Elements of research work are obligatory constituents of all types of educational activities and works performed by the students of the department: laboratory, practical and independent works; term papers and projects; theses and projects. Students of the Department actively participate in scientific conferences, competitions and competitions, where the results of their reports are published in their scientific works.
